When it comes to communications, Austen will be with you from A to Z – with a few em dashes thrown in for good measure.
With five years of diverse communications and engagement experience – and a passion for youth- and sustainability-related projects – Austen uses research, intuition and creativity to understand audiences and create customized content that leads to positive outcomes.
Prior to joining Context, Austen founded Youthinc: a communications consultancy specializing in helping organizations engage with youth – particularly, post-secondary – demographics. He has also held a variety of editorial and management positions at UBC’s university newspaper, The Ubyssey, and worked in the communications department of the UBC Sustainability Initiative.
Besides communications and engagement, Austen’s favourite things include playing guitar (which he’s done for 14 years and counting) and being taken on walks by his dogs. He also bakes some of the best chocolate chip cookies this side of the Rockies.
